As well as upgrading your inventory space, you can upgrade any technology installed in your exosuit too. It’s definitely worth doing if you’re planning on spending any length of time in the game. Cargo slots can hold double of what “General” inventory slots can, with the exception of basic resources and unique items. The base Exosuit has 24 General Inventory Slots, 4 Technology Inventory Slots and 2 Cargo Inventory Slots available.
Drop-Pod Coordinate Data has been replaced with an Exosuit Upgrade Chart that leads players directly to Drop Pods without having to use the signal booster. The charts can be found while exploring or purchased from a cartographer aboard the space station. The maximum number of slots per inventory has been significantly increased, with 120 item slots and 60 technology slots now available.
There are different upgrade tiers for each system, so you might have two different Warp Drive upgrades, with one providing a +1 bonus and the other providing a +2. Devote inventory slots in the Exosuit to Carbon, Sodium and Oxygen. It’s a good idea to devote a slot to your ship’s inventory to keep a ready supply of fuel for the Launch Thruster. If you can afford the space, you can also stack 5 Metal Plating in a slot which will free you from having to leave your ship and hunt for elements if you run out of fuel and have some Di-hydrogen on hand. Do a crafting run to make Starship Launch Fuel when you get low avoids the hassle of making the fuel when you need it. Life Support can be charged with Oxygen, an Oxygen Capsule, Life Support Gel or Dioxite.
It’s very easy to transfer things between your Exosuit inventory and ship inventory, but did you know you can rearrange the placement of individual inventory tiles? Just hover over whatever you want to reposition and press the X button. Note that this only works with items in your inventory — ship systems and Exosuit upgrades are locked to wherever you craft them.
Carbon is found in trees and plants and is easy to locate and harvest on most planets. Condensed Carbon can be harvested from harder-to-find crystals or refined from simple Carbon. So long as you listen to the little mechanical voice in your head , you should have zero problem overcoming even the harshest of planetary surfaces. Finally, on planet surfaces, the odd building will have some NPCs inside and one vendor. At one end inside the small building is a single Multi-tool in a cabinet on the wall, which you can buy as an upgrade for yours if you wish. Whatever you don’t sell or move to a different inventory is lost. Another inventory that’s ripe for upgrading is that of your exosuit. Because of the vast quantities of some materials that are necessary for crafting, you’ll want to have as much pocket space as possible for stacks of common components.
These various elements will attack your suit with glee, making your Life Support systems plummet. Still, it’s simple enough when you know what you’re doing, so below we’ve put together a few pieces of advice on how to expand your ship, Exosuit, and multi-tool inventories as quickly as possible. In your Exosuit in No Man’s Sky, there are three sections that can be filled with different equipment. Firstly, there is your normal inventory that can contain up to 48 slots.
Don’t forget that the upgrades go up by 10,000 Units each time you buy a new one, though, so be sure to bring along plenty of money for the transaction. Upgrading your inventory is hugely important in No Man’s Sky. It allows you to carry more, which means you can earn more from mining and trading and be more ready for diverse situations. You can add inventory slots to your exosuit and your starship; as well as this you can also add more modification slots to your multi-tool. Upgrade Modules are, as we’ve established, used to give your ship’s existing technology a stat boost. You can buy these from the right vendor in space stations, and they don’t require any additional crafting to install — you just pop them down where you like.
